2OO8 CAMBRIA OKTOBERFEST
The 2008 Cambria Oktoberfest will take place Saturday October 4 from 12:00 Noon 'till 8:00 p.m. at the Veterans' Hall, 1000 Main Street in downtown Cambria .
Sponsored by American Legion Post 432, St. Paul's Episcopal Church and Santa Rosa Catholic Church, the proceeds provide funds for the Legion's Troop Support program, the Cambria Bus, and local food distribution.
The event offers German food, beer, live music and dancing. From Noon to 4:00 p.m. the music will be provided by the Mudskippers band from Arroyo Grande and from 4:00 until closing by The Great Danes from Fresno . Cover charge, $7.00, and low a la carte prices for food.
Area performing groups on the program include the Cambria Line Dancers, Cambria Swing Dancers, Cambria German Folk Dancers, She Folk (Cambria International Folk Dancers), Solvang Village Folk Dancers and Benat Serat (Morro Bay Belly Dancers) . Audience participation activities include a Men's Ugly Legs contest, Ladies' Lovely Legs contest, Chicken Dance contest and Foxy Dachsie beauty contest for dachshunds. For information, contact Rev.
